What it does
Everything CrohnOlogy can do today. No aspirational promises, just what's in the app.
Spot the patterns that matter
The real value isn't just logging. It's seeing the connections. Two tabs keep things clear: Overview shows a weekly summary, a 30-day bowel-movement trend, and a 60-day weight timeline. Triggers highlights foods eaten before a concerning stool, so you can spot what might be causing flare-ups. Perfect for bringing useful context to appointments with your care team.
The four entry types
Every entry is part of one shared, encrypted family timeline. Tap an entry to view or edit it; entries can be back-dated to when they actually happened.
Food
- Quick-select food items (up to 10 per entry) for fast logging.
- Meal type: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snack.
- A free-text description for anything you want to remember.
- Optional photo, captured in-app or picked from the gallery.
Stool
- Bristol Stool Scale (1–7) tap-to-select grid.
- Associated pain level (0–10, where 0 means no pain).
- Blood presence indicator.
- Urgency rating (1–5).
- Optional notes and photo. Stool photos are blurred by default in the timeline for privacy; tap to reveal.
Pain
- Intensity (1–10).
- Visual location grid with eight anatomical sites: Upper Right, Lower Right (Ileum), Upper Left, Lower Left, Epigastric (Centre Top), Perianal, Joints, and General/Diffuse.
- Pain type: Cramps, Stinging, Ache, Bloated, or Butterflies.
- Optional notes.
Weight
- Simple numerical (decimal) entry in your preferred unit.
- Track fluctuations over time alongside everything else.
One private timeline, shared with family
The whole family logs into the same encrypted timeline. Three roles keep access under control:
Admin
Full access. Invites new members, manages roles, and can recover access for others.
Member
Full access to log, view, edit, and delete entries in the Report and Journal tabs.
Viewer
Read-only access to the Journal timeline. The Report button is disabled and greyed out.
Adding a family member
Adding a family member uses a secure handshake, not a guessable password:
- The Admin generates a QR code.
- The new member signs in and scans the QR code.
- A secure handshake delivers the family encryption key to the new device. No passwords shared, no keys sent over the internet.
- The member joins the family with the right role.
Each family's data is completely isolated from every other.
Unlocked by you, not a password
CrohnOlogy uses biometric authentication (face or fingerprint) to unlock the app. After the first unlock, a short-lived session keeps things smooth for 120 seconds, so photos and entries appear instantly without repeated prompts. The session clears automatically after 120 seconds, or after 5 minutes in the background.
Photos that stay private
Quick to capture, light on data
Photos are optimised on the phone before they're sent, so uploads are fast and won't eat your mobile data.
Encrypted and private
Every photo is encrypted before it leaves the phone. Only authorised family members can view them.
